Terms of Use

Last updated: 2026-07-13

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of antonysisle.com (the “Site”). By using the Site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

The Site is a personal website containing writing, projects, photos, event information, and related resources. These terms are intended to be practical and readable, not a substitute for formal legal advice.

1. Site Content

Content on the Site is provided for general information, education, personal expression, and community purposes. It may include opinions, drafts, summaries, event materials, links, embeds, and references to third-party resources.

We try to keep information accurate and useful, but we do not guarantee that all content is complete, current, error-free, or suitable for any particular purpose.

2. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the Site. This includes attempting to disrupt the Site, bypass security controls, scrape excessively, submit spam, impersonate others, upload malicious content, or use the Site for unlawful, abusive, harassing, or deceptive activity.

We may remove content, block access, reject bookings, or take other reasonable action if we believe these terms or the security of the Site are being violated.

3. Comments and User Submissions

If you submit comments, private messages or chat content, form submissions, event booking details, or other content, you are responsible for what you submit. Do not submit content that is unlawful, abusive, defamatory, invasive of privacy, infringing, spammy, or otherwise inappropriate.

We may moderate, edit, refuse, or remove submissions at our discretion. Submitting content does not guarantee publication or continued availability.

On-site private messaging and chat are provided for personal communication with the site owner and other permitted users. Do not use messaging or forms to send spam or advertising, share malicious links or unknown QR codes, or engage in unlawful, abusive, or harassing behavior. Messages may be screened by automated (AI-based) moderation tools as described in the Privacy & Cookie Policy, and we may access and review message data where moderation, security, or legal compliance requires. We may restrict or revoke messaging access in case of abuse.

The Site supports webmentions: if another website links to a post here and sends a webmention, the Site may verify, store, and publicly display the source page’s address, author name, avatar, and an excerpt as an interaction on the linked post. Webmentions are treated as user submissions — we may moderate, refuse, or remove them at our discretion, and you may request removal of a webmention that references you or your website by contacting us.

Registered users may use the Site’s IndieAuth sign-in to authorize third-party applications to act with their Site identity. You are responsible for the applications you choose to authorize and for revoking access you no longer want (access tokens also expire automatically). Third-party applications are not operated by us, and we are not responsible for their conduct or content.

4. Events, RSVP, and Bookings

The Site may publish event information and allow RSVP or booking submissions. Event details, times, locations, capacity, availability, and booking status may change.

We may approve, reject, modify, or cancel bookings or events where necessary, including for capacity limits, scheduling changes, abuse prevention, safety, or administrative reasons. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, event listings on this Site do not create a paid commercial service relationship.

5. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, Site text, images, layouts, and original materials are owned by their respective creators. You may link to public pages and quote short excerpts with appropriate attribution, but you may not copy, republish, or reuse substantial parts of the Site without permission.

Third-party content, embeds, trademarks, and linked resources remain the property of their respective owners.

6. Third-Party Links and Services

The Site may link to or embed third-party services such as YouTube, Google resources, translation tools, visitor statistics provided by Automattic (Jetpack), social previews, or external websites. We are not responsible for the content, availability, policies, or practices of third-party services.

Your use of third-party services may be governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

7. Privacy

Use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy & Cookie Policy, which explains how the Site handles personal data, cookies, analytics, comments, bookings, and security logs.

8. Availability and Changes

The Site may change, move, become unavailable, or be discontinued at any time. We may update content, features, policies, and these terms when needed.

9. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

The Site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties and are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of the Site.

Nothing in these terms limits liability where it cannot legally be limited.

10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms, and any dispute arising out of or in connection with the Site, are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China, except where mandatory consumer-protection or data-protection rules of your place of residence apply and cannot be excluded by agreement.

Before starting any formal proceeding, you agree to first contact us at [email protected] and allow at least thirty (30) days for good-faith informal resolution. To the extent permitted by applicable law, any dispute that cannot be resolved informally shall be submitted to the people’s court with jurisdiction over the Site operator’s domicile in the People’s Republic of China.

If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permissible, and the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of the right to enforce it later.

11. Contact

For questions about these terms, or to send legal notices, contact: [email protected].

Service and Organisational Scope

Antony’s Isle is Antony’s personal website and independent online infrastructure. Unless a service publishes separate terms, these terms also apply to services hosted under antonysisle.com. Access granted to BP Debate Union or its members does not make an Antony’s Isle service an official, affiliated, owned, or operated service of BP Debate Union. BP Debate Union’s official online service is bpdebate.club. Project-specific pages may state a distinct relationship, including Ouxiu as a BPDU-led project whose infrastructure is operated by Antony.
