Philosophy: Scratching My Own Itch
My development philosophy is straightforward: I build tools to solve my own problems and automate my daily workflows. I am a firm believer that the best software comes from personal necessity. While my projects are primarily designed to serve my own needs — proving my ability to identify bottlenecks and implement solutions — I open-source them with the hope that they might benefit others facing similar challenges.
Here are some of the tools I’ve built through AI-empowered development:
🏛️ Debate & Structural Communication
BPDU-SlideGen | Motion Analysis & Briefing Automation
In British Parliamentary debate, dissecting complex motions and preparing training materials is highly time-consuming. I developed this tool to automate the pipeline of motion analysis and generate visualized presentation slides. It significantly streamlines the academic preparation process for BP Debate Union, ensuring our training sessions remain rigorous and intellectually demanding without the administrative overhead.
BPDU_Automation | Streamlining Club Operations
As Past President of BP Debate Union and maintainer of the BPDU Digital Platform, I saw how club paperwork and routine administrative tasks could easily distract from actual debate training. I built this automation suite to handle the repetitive bureaucratic workflows, allowing the current BPDU team to focus on ordinary operations, competitive excellence, and policy exploration.
📈 Language & Productivity
IELTS-9 | IELTS Writing Automation
Preparing for the IELTS exam requires consistent output and immediate feedback. To optimize my own preparation, I created an automated pipeline for IELTS writing practice. The tool facilitates structured practice, helping me refine my argumentation and language proficiency efficiently.
VoiceInput | Custom Voice Typing for Linux
I needed a reliable, seamless voice input solution tailored for my specific daily workflow and operating system. Since existing solutions didn’t perfectly fit my needs, I built my own. It is designed specifically to run on my local environment. (And yes, I use Arch Linux, btw.)
🌏 Cultural Preservation & Team Leadership
瓯绣研究所 (Ouxiu Research Institute) | Digital Platform for Intangible Cultural Heritage
Built and maintain the official digital platform for Ouxiu (瓯绣), a national-level intangible cultural heritage craft from Wenzhou dating back to the Tang Dynasty. The website serves as the digital window for the Ouxiu Research Institute at the Wenzhou Arts & Crafts Research Institute, showcasing embroidery works, stitching techniques, historical background, and the cultural spirit behind this endangered craft. This was a cross-institutional collaboration initiated by Yunnan Technology and Business University’s “绣灵” team, with technical support from BP Debate Union, and designed by the WZBC “Golden Flowers” practice team. I led website architecture, content strategy, and ongoing maintenance.
温商金花实践队 (WZBC “Golden Flowers” Practice Team) | 22-Person Summer Social Practice Leadership
Served as captain of a 22-person summer social practice team at Wenzhou Business College. The team’s mission was to build a digital brand for the Ouxiu Research Institute — delivering a complete package including the official website, promotional articles submitted to multiple media outlets, short-form video content, public survey design and analysis, and final project documentation. I wrote the final project proposal, produced the team achievement portfolio, managed 16 days of daily reporting, and coordinated across website, video editing, photography, and publicity sub-teams.
