Site Update: Chat, Forms, and Policy Changes (July 6, 2026)

By

On July 6, 2026 I updated this site’s Privacy & Cookie Policy and Terms of Use, alongside two new features. Here is a summary.

New Features

  • On-site chat: you can now message me directly via the Chat page (login required). Messages are sent over encrypted (HTTPS) connections; you can delete your own messages, and attachments auto-delete after 365 days.
  • Contact forms: forms are now powered by Forminator, with hCaptcha spam protection.

Privacy & Cookie Policy Updates

  • New sections covering private messaging and forms — what is stored, for how long, and how to request deletion.
  • A new International Data Transfers section: the site is hosted in the United States.
  • Region-specific rights under the EU/UK GDPR, California CCPA/CPRA, and China’s PIPL.
  • Clarified that the cookie banner is an acknowledgement notice: the site has no in-banner refuse/revoke control, and continued use after notice constitutes acceptance; use browser settings to manage cookies.
  • Third-party disclosures now include hCaptcha (form spam protection) and the jsDelivr CDN (chat emoji images).

Terms of Use Updates

  • Conduct rules now explicitly cover messaging and form submissions (no spam, malicious links, or harassment; moderation access where required).
  • A new Governing Law and Dispute Resolution section: PRC law with a carve-out for mandatory protections of your place of residence, and a 30-day informal-resolution step before any formal proceeding.
  • Legal contact for this site is now [email protected].

These changes add features and transparency without reducing your rights. Continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of the updated policies. Questions: [email protected].
